Story / Plot
The film follows Komal, a young filmmaker who begins a low-budget project but soon faces financial trouble. When the original producer becomes unwell, his daughter Chitra steps in and takes control of the production.
She forces Komal to complete the movie within a tight budget, creating constant stress. While the idea starts with potential, the execution feels uneven and lacks emotional strength.
The first half offers a few light humorous moments, but the second half slows down heavily. Several unnecessary scenes and a stretched wedding sequence reduce the overall impact.
Performance
Vishwak Sen delivers an energetic performance and manages to hold attention even when the script weakens. Kayadu Lohar plays her role in a simple manner but does not get much scope to shine. Supporting characters remain underdeveloped and fail to leave a lasting impression.
Music
The soundtrack has only one notable song that stands out. The remaining tracks are average and do not enhance the storytelling. The background score also feels repetitive and misses emotional depth in key scenes.
Direction
Anudeep KV tries to rely heavily on comedy punches, but the emotional core of the story is missing. Many scenes feel inserted just for humor, breaking the narrative flow. The pacing issues in the second half make the film feel longer than it should be.
Cinematography
The visuals are plain and functional without any creative touch. Lighting and framing remain basic, and some sequences feel rushed. Overall presentation lacks a strong visual identity.
Conclusion
Funky offers a few entertaining moments but struggles with weak storytelling and uneven execution. Despite good efforts from the cast, the film fails to maintain consistency and ends up as a forgettable watch.
